I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up to No Good

Right. So, Terry. We figured some things need to be said.
Obviously, this muck caught us all by surprise, and it's not what any of us wanted. But you're still our mate, and you're still a wizard, and you're still a Ravenclaw, and you're still a student of Hogwarts, no matter what. You're just...well, studying off-site now. So to speak. And deep undercover. But you're going to continue your education, and we're going to help. And you'll be free of that worthless piece of...excrement...some day, and we'll see each other again.
You asked that we write to you 'once in a while.' Well, that's not good enough as far as we're concerned. We'll be here every day, and you're on this lock with us, so you can talk to us whenever you like.
Don't shut us out, mate. Hermione's told us before that's what you do when that bastard is particularly hard on you, and we're sure that now that he's renewing his personal acquaintance with you it's no picnic, but don't shut us out. For now, pick up the quill and let us know you're still alive and kicking. Tell us what you need, and by Merlin, we will move heaven and earth to find a way to get it to you. Neville's right; our dad has an in at the camps, and he'll help us with this. Maybe we can figure out a way you can get an owl safely. Maybe we can get you another bracelet with beads charmed that will hide other stuff you can use: books or blankets or decent shoes for your feet, or whatever else you tell us you need.
You're going to live and be free and you'll spit in the bastard's eye in the end. And we're here to help you do that.
Write us back, mate. No matter how bad it is, you can count on us.

Date: 2011-05-31 08:39 pm (UTC)If you can work out the bead and the delivery, there are people who NEVER use their journals and it would not be hard to steal it. As long as he always, always used the lock. It would be a little odd to have Barney Bole or Vince Crabbe replying under the lock, but we'd know who it was. It would still work, right? Since Terry knows how to say 'I Solemnly Swear' -- the journal would know it was him? I could filch Milli's journal and see if I can see posts from there.
And that way Carrow couldn't take it from him. Because he wouldn't know Terry had it.
Your father could probably find out what camp he's at, at least. But don't ask in the journals. Or by owl. You'll be going home really soon, and you can ask him in person.
You know --
Maybe you could have him pretend it's sort of a career day thing. And take you to the camp. That way he wouldn't have to know about the bracelet, or at least he wouldn't have to REALLY know about it. He would probably guess you wanted to get something to Terry. Although if he did, and Carrow saw -- you know he'd take it out on him. I guess it depends how much you trust your father. If your mum's in with Black then your father surely is, too.
